Legal Tech Night and Legal Tech Day 2025 in Berlin

Last week, we were busy with our project 𝗝𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂 𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 (JuST) at Legal Tech Night and Legal Tech Day in Berlin!

It was incredibly exciting to see how many start-ups and companies are currently active in the field of legal tech and are developing innovative solutions to support lawyers in their daily work. We are delighted about the important insights provided by Quint Haidar Aly (ACCICE) in the panel discussion “Digital Rule of Law: Is Access to Justice a Systemic Issue?” The discussion highlighted key challenges such as costly procedures, a shortage of skilled workers, and (increasingly) complex case law, which significantly impede access to justice.

This is exactly where we come in with 𝗝𝘂𝗦𝗧 in the field of migration law and 𝗚𝗘𝗔𝗦-𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺, developing a prototypical solution to improve access to justice through AI-supported software.

JuST at the Hamburg Innovation Summit 2025

Quint Haidar Aly and Marten Borchers had the honor of presenting JuST, which is funded by Hamburg Innovation GmbH‘s Calls for Transfer, at the Hamburg Innovation Summit HISS 2025!

In the 𝗝𝘂𝗦𝗧 or project 𝗝𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥 𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 Software We are focusing on the development of a prototype AI-based solution for legal experts that supports data protection-compliant and multilingual counseling for refugees. We are concentrating on selected procedures with the aim of strengthening access to justice. To this end, we are cooperating with Refugee Law Clinics Deutschland e.V., ACCICE, and further civil society organizations.

We are happy about the launch of the JuST project

The JuST project supports lawyers, authorities, and counseling centers specializing in migration law in implementing the complex GEAS regulations and EU directives. The goal is to create an AI-supported platform that facilitates access to relevant legal sources, simplifies application in migration law, and improves law enforcement for refugees. The development is based on an innovative retrieval augmented generation architecture that combines databases with generative AI. Practical tests with experts ensure user-friendliness and accuracy.
